Sunday School
St. Francis offers a Sunday School Program during the 10a.m. service for children from 3 years to 11 years. This operates for 10 months of the year from September to June with a modified program being offered during July and August, also during the 10 am service. St. Francis has recently begun using a new( to us) Sunday School curriculum called "One Room Sunday School". This curriculum offers age appropriate games, crafts and activities that help the children discover and learn about the stories of the Bible and the relevance of these stories to their daily lives.
The Sunday School program is led by Ainslie Moignard, who has extensive experience operating Sunday School programs. Ainslie supervises a committed group of volunteers who help to make it a great program. We are always looking for more teachers and volunteers! This is a great way for teens to complete service hours for school requirements!
The Sunday School is divided into classes as follows:
- Preschool & Kindergarten (ages 3-5)
- Grades 1 - 4
Children younger than 3 are welcome in the nursery, which is staffed by caring volunteers.
Youth in Grades 5 to 7 leave the service after the childrens' address to join Phil Colvin in the youth room, who leads their Bible study and fellowship group.
Teens in Grade 8 to 12 gather in the hall prior to the service to participate in a Bible Study led by Rick and Marilou Appleby, who have been trained in the Education for Ministry Program. They youth join in the service in time for the sermon and stay in for the duration.
