Youth Groups

Youth Ministry and outreach has always been a vital component of the ministry and mission of St. Francis and we our committed to youth in the parish and surrounding community. The Youth Ministry at St. Francis consists of two groups: a Senior Youth Group (Gr. 8 – 12) and a Junior Youth Group (Gr. 5 - 7).

Junior Youth meet on Mondays from 3.30pm – 5.00pm in the church hall and youth room for games, sports and chat. We also meet on Sundays during the 10am service for our weekly discussion and fellowship group; as well as for one off events on Saturdays like visits to Fun Land, swim parties and dinners!

Senior Youth meet on Mondays between 6.30pm – 8.30pm. We have dinner together and have a variety of themed evenings and activities. These evenings are open to all and are a great way to get involved with what's going on at St. Francis. Here's the schedule for our Summer 2010 events:

The Senior Youth discussion group, Ignite, meets on alternate Sunday evenings from 6.30pm – 8pm where we eat some pizza and chew over some hot topics. This Spring, we had a series of classes for our confirmation candidates. Ignite will return in the Fall.

In addition to the weekly meetings there are a wide range of special events and activities including guest speakers, trips to go laser tagging, go karting or tubing. We also perform outreach to the wider Vancouver community; St. Francis youth serve with the Lutheran Urban Missions Society in the Downtown Eastside and are also involved in fundraising for groups in Vancouver and beyond.
