MORNING PRAYER Join us from Monday to Friday at 7am.


EVENING PRAYER Monday - Thursday at 5.30pm. You are welcome to come and pray in the Church at anytime.


MIDWEEK EUCHARIST Each Wednesday at 10 am followed by a Bible Study discussion group in the lounge.


YOUTH NEWS Youth group drop ins take place on Mondays. Junior youth (grades 5-7) meet on Monday in the hall and youth room from 4.00 - 5.30pm. Seniors (grades 8+) then meet for dinner and drop in from 6.30 - 8.30pm. Our Young Adult group for those aged 18 - 30 will be meeting this week; contact Phil Colvin for more information! Also, pick up the new term cards from the back of church today!


CONFIRMATION The first confirmation class meets Sunday evening, January 22 from 6.30 - 8.00pm in the St. Francis lounge!


MEDICARE FOR AUTISM NOW! Is a documentary raising awareness about the plight of families with autistic children in Canada. The 40 minute movie was sponsored in part by a grant from the St. Francis-in-the-Wood Legacy Fund. Please come to a public screening at 7pm on Wednesday, January 25 at St. Francis. Jean Lewis and David Marley will be present to discuss questions raised. Please let the office know if you are planning to attend.


BEAT THE WINTER BLUES Express yourself in two fun filled workshops. February 26th 12-3 pm Cooking with Louise Selby sharing her famous secret chicken recipe. Wine sipping included. March 25th 12-3 pm African Dance, Stretching and Meditation All proceeds go to St. Francis Social Concerns Committee. Cost $50 per person. Please register at the Parish Office.


SCHOLARS UNIQUE NECK WARMERS have raised over $220 for the Social Concerns Committee. More knitters needed. Please contact Jan Volker


KEVIN ZAKRESKY our former Music Director will be conducting Chor Leoni in Requiem a recital in partial fulfillment of his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Conducting on Saturday, February 4 at 7:30pm at St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, 1022 Nelson Street (@Burrard) in Vancouver. Tickets priced $30 ($25 seniors, $15 students) will be available in Church on Sunday or from the Parish Office.


TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR It has come to our attention that transportation to St. Francis is becoming an increasing difficulty for many members of our parish. If anyone would be interested in or have questions about spearheading this and possibly becoming the Transportation Coordinator, please contact Kathleen Glynn-Morris, Mark Ballard, Janice Lowell or Angus Stuart.

This year's Annual Vestry Meeting will take place following the 10am Service on Sunday, February 19th 2012. The Vestry Package, including financial reports, will be available shortly online and as a hardcopy by request.

In the meantime we are keen to receive nominations for the following positions:

Deputy Church Warden

Parish Trustee

Assistant Treasurer
A one year position with a view to becoming
Treasurer in 2013 for up to three years


Assistant Envelope Secretary
A one year position with a view to becoming
Envelope Secretary in 2013 for up to three years

Grounds Supervisor

Facilities Coordinator

Transportation Coordinator
