Friends,
I’m away this Sunday, in a cove on the other side of the country—out of office, but not out of prayer.
This week’s readings bring quite a cast: a reluctant Jeremiah who hears, “Yes, you” (Jeremiah 1:4–10), a psalmist who’s leaned on God since forever (Psalm 71:1–6), a reminder that we belong to a kingdom that doesn’t rattle apart (Hebrews 12:18–29), and Jesus helping a long-bent woman stand tall right in the middle of Sabbath (Luke 13:10–17).
Put simply: when we feel small, wobbly, or hunched by habit, God calls, steadies, and straightens. Church is where we practice that together.
So come as you are—bent, buoyant, or somewhere between—and let the prayers do their slow, good work. You’ll be in excellent hands, and we’ll gather at 10am like normal.
Need something while I’m away? Ping the office and Carol will point you the right way.
Summer blessings,
Alex+
