Healing Ministry

(Restrictions will apply, based on the advice of the BC Public Health Office in these times of pandemic)

Ordinarily this ministry includes offering the laying on of hands with prayer for healing at some worship services, day-retreats, workshops and courses exploring healing and energy work.

At St. Francis we offer laying on of hands for healing, as a spiritual practice of our faith. We pray we are opened to possibilities for new life. Healing is not necessarily a cure, although it can be. It is a Grace, offering us support and love to live our lives as best we can with presence.

Right now, at a time of social distancing, we are learning to respond to the practice of faith in healing differently. This ministry is coordinated by parishioner Mary Millerd.  Mary is a Teacher, Counsellor and a Spiritual Director, educated at UBC and VST.

If you are in need of healing or would like to explore healing as a faith practice please get in touch with Mary through the St. Francis-in-the-Wood Church Office.   You may also find it helpful to consider this Video Meditation with Mary Millerd on the Collect for Peace.

However, if you have a pastoral emergency please contact the clergy here.
