Today is Palm Sunday, also known as the Sunday of the Passion. This marks the transition in our journey from Lent into Holy Week.
We will begin with our Palm Sunday liturgy, which we usually do on the green in front of the church, culminating in the blessing of the palm crosses. This year, of course, we are not able to distribute these in person on Palm Sunday, but they will be in a basket on the narthex table at the back of church for collection by any who pass by and for all of us when this present time passes. The hymn Ride On, Ride On in Majesty brings us into Holy Week, which we begins with the story of the telling of the "passion" of Christ - the betrayal, arrest, trial, and execution of Jesus. This year the story is told from the Gospel According to Matthew. Our Music Director has again contributed some beautiful musical items for today's worship, and our prayers are led this week by Arleen Stiver. Alecia and I look forward to you joining us if you are able to.
