Godly Play Spoken Here
It has been an exciting time at St. Francis-in-the-Wood as we prepared to introduce Godly Play into our children's ministry. Godly Play is a curriculum of "spiritual practice that explores the mystery of God's presence in our lives and engages what is most exciting about religious education: God inviting us into, and pursuing us in the midst of, Scripture and spiritual experience."* Through stories, wondering questions and creative play children learn the language and richness of the Christian faith.
Godly Play is offered for children between the ages of 3-11 during our 10am service; it runs concurrent to the academic school year. For our older children we have a junior youth program that is taught by our clergy, it too is offered at the 10am service.
The choir loft continues to be a space where parents who have children too young for Godly Play can enjoy the service and keep their little ones occupied with quiet toys, books and art supplies.
Our church is blessed with a diverse and enthusiastic group of children! Their presence always enriches our worship!
