Friends,
There’s a quiet line in John’s Gospel that’s been echoing in my heart this week:
“Get up. Let’s go.”
Jesus speaks it the night before the cross. Not in fear. Not to run. But to step forward—into sorrow, into love, into whatever comes next. And he doesn’t go alone.
That feels especially important right now. With war still unfolding in Gaza and Ukraine— among too many others, and so much grief in the air, it’s easy to feel paralyzed. But the scriptures we will hear this week tell a bigger story—one where God walks with us through uncertainty, not around it.
We hear about Moses, who climbs a mountain and glimpses the Promised Land he won’t live to enter. And we hear Jesus, who promises peace to his friends—not a peace that fixes everything, but one that stays.
That kind of peace doesn’t come with certainty. But it makes room for faithfulness.
Because even when we don’t see the outcome, we can still choose to plant peace.
To tend love. To bless what’s next—even if it isn’t ours to finish.
Because we don’t do it alone. The Spirit is already ahead of us. Preparing the soil of new life for us.
So Let’s go—faithfully, gently, together, into the arms of love and peace in our world. Not because its easy, but because that’s where God is for us this week.
Can’t wait to see you on Sunday! I’ll save you a seat!
