Friends,

Something from this weeks Gospel has been echoing for me this week: “You are witnesses of these things.”

Not spectators. Not heroes. Witnesses.

It’s the kind of word that meets us in the thick of things—when we’re still waiting for clarity, when life feels uncertain, when we’re carrying more questions than answers. And let’s be honest: that’s where many of us are these days.

We’re watching the world ache and shift—wars still raging, economies wobbling, divisions growing deep. And closer to home, some of us are navigating loss, change, or just trying to hold it all together. It’s easy to feel like we need to have it figured out before we can be of any use.

But Jesus doesn’t wait for his friends to be certain or ready. He meets them in their confusion and unfinished stories and names them witnesses. Because they’ve seen something true- they’ve seen Him. And now they’re called to live like it matters.

That’s why this moment in Luke matters—not just then, but now.
It reminds us that we don’t need to have all the answers to show up with love.
That bearing witness—really paying attention, holding space, speaking truth—is holy work.

And it’s work we can do now.

So maybe the invitation this week is simple:
To stay present to what’s unfolding.
To trust that even in the unknown, God is still at work.
To live like we’ve seen something true.

You don’t have to be certain.
But you are part of the story.
And even now—even here—you are being sent.

See you Sunday! I’ll save you a seat.
