What a moving afternoon was spent at St. Stephen’s church in Ambleside, on Sat. Nov. 8th for the “We’ll Meet Again” concert. I was there to hear the very polished Coast Mountain Men’s Chorus along with professional musicians. Our Karen Lee-Morlang was leading them and of course participating, also there were two other leading singers Melanie Adams and Caitlin Beaupre, together the three of them are the Lady Larks. The five professional musicians who accompanied the singers were Malcolm Aiken on trumpet, Buff Allen on drums, Julie Begg on clarinet & saxophone, Jim Hopson on trombone & tuba and Laurence Mollerup on double bass.
There was an air of excitement as old and young and in between ages streamed into the church. The concert was greatfully supported in part by Westerleigh Park Residences and Still on the Hill.
It is so wonderful to be able to participate in singing some of the old favourites from the 1st and 2nd World Wars. There was an excellent selection of songs and musical selections with a little comedy thrown in.
The intermission came at the right time, with coffee and tea and delicious cookies provided. Lots of time available for friends to chat and speak to the performers.
This was a most enjoyable afternoon and was very polished performance. I will certainly be adding other events and performances to my calendar! We are so very fortunate to have such talent in this area. Karen Lee-Morlang always produces great musical events and this was no exception!
